Hey friends! Welcome to my winter home tour. This is how my house has looked since I took Christmas down a few weeks ago. (You can see my Christmas Tours by clicking here). I was craving some peace when I decorated for winter, after all of the red and the plaid and the festive and the bright, I just needed a spot for my eye to rest. Does that make sense? Don’t get me wrong, I love all things Christmas, but after about a month of having it up, I start to twitch. So for the calm of winter after Christmas, I stuck with more neutrals, whites, and greens mostly, with a few remnants of Christmas that I didn’t want to part with yet. You will also see touches of black and white plaid and ribbons that are black and white striped.
You have no idea what a mess I’ve gotten myself into around here as I am typing this! My daughter Delaney, 19, and Mr. 15 Year Old are trading rooms. We literally emptied out and painted each room, and shampooed carpet, and now we are trying to get each one of them moved into their new rooms. The fun part is the new room decorating situation. The not fun part is the trading of the furniture and a flight of stairs in between the two rooms! So right now? I’m kinda tired, but I wanted to share my winter tour. So I am going to just let you look at (and and hopefully enjoy) the pictures. And by the time you are reading this, just picture me unpacking, organizing, and situating two kids into new rooms. Cause that’s what I’ll be doing! I can’t wait to share the final results with you all, I have shared a few peeks on Instagram if you’d like to follow along.
One thing, before I shut up, I am happy to say that we recently purchased a new coffee table, so the one you see here is no longer. We actually moved it down to my son's new bedroom just this past weekend. And we replaced it with a round coffee table. Hopefully I will recover fromt he disaster of changing bedrooms soon so that I can clean up the living room and take some pictures of it. I am very happy with it, it really opens up the space and makes it feel bigger.
The fireplace is my favorite! I love the way it turned out, just simple, and the white garland says Let it Snow.
You can see a little peek into the kitchen here, and the new legs we recently installed on our kitchen island. I haven't blogged about it yet, but we will also be adding a rustic wood top to the island.
Moving into the dining room, I moved a few of the Trees from my rustic Christmas mantle in here to my buffet. All throughout my winter decor I have touched of black and white plaid and ribbons. You can see I left my burlap wreath very simple with just a white and black bow on top.
And just a couple glimpses of my entryway. I moved a tree from my Christmas mantle down here and added this rustic little snowman. Isn't he the cutest? A friend of mine made him, and i love him so much! If you are local, you can find the friend who made this snowman here. She makes lots of primitive things and sells them.
I hope you enjoyed my winter home tour today. I am so glad that you stopped by! Before I go, I wanted to mention that over the weekend, Connect-Bridgeport, a local online new website, did a feature about me and my blog! You can click here if you would like to read it! Have a great Monday!
