While I was Away...Adventures at The Haven Conference and Charleston, SC

Hey All!  It has been over a week that I have been completely away from my blog, and it seems like forever!  Did any of you miss me?  I sure did miss you, and this little blog of mine!  I can’t remember the last time I actually took a week away, and did not even so much as check up on the blog.  But it was a much needed break for me and my family, and, even know I was away from the blog, part of my time away was all about blogging, because for the first time ever, I attended the Haven Blog Conference!  For those of you who are not bloggers, Haven is a DIY bloggers conference, and it was one of the  most amazing experiences of my life.  I am going to start working on a post to tell you all about it, and I learned so much about how to help my blog flourish, so stay tuned for that!

My mind is swimming with ideas for the blog since Haven (serious brain overload people), from the rock star swag bag to the rock star bloggers, I was in awe of the entire experience.  I learned so much, and I met and saw so many bloggers whose work I have admired for years, and some whose blogs I didn’t even know existed, and can’t wait to go and read now that I met them!

I will be sharing more about Haven and our trip with you soon, and hopefully resuming my regular blogging schedule and bringing you some amazing content that you will enjoy.  And if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, I have shared some pictures of what we have been up to over the past week.

My whole family went with me down to Atlanta for Haven, and they enjoyed spending a couple of days there.  After that, we traveled down to Charleston, SC, and spent 4 days there.  You guys, if you have never been to Charleston, I strongly encourage you to add it to your bucket list.  We fell in love with that beautiful city, so much so that we have been fantasizing about moving there one day.

We spent two days at two different beaches- Sullivan’s Island and Folly Beach.  The water was warm, the sun was shining, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading a good book and watching the kids explore and play.

We spent time at the gorgeous Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, and it was like a magical fantasy land.  Even the kids were in awe!

And of course we strolled around Historical Charleston, and fell in love with the gorgeous city.

It’s difficult to be away from my blog for so long, but the memories we created in Charleston made it all worth it.  Spending time with family is more important than any blog post I ever could write.  And since I spend so much time blogging when at home, sometimes the kids just need my undivided attention.  That is what feeds my soul more than anything else.  The things I learned at Haven, and the connections I made with other bloggers will hopefully help me to improve and grow my blog, and that is why I went.

So I am back, baby!  Just give me a minute or two to recollect, and organize myself, and I will be back to blogging as usual real soon, and hopefully better than ever!
