What I Wore Wednesday- August 27, 2014

Hey all!  Welcome to my Weekly What I Wore Wednesday post!  Every week, for several months now, I have been taking pictures of my outfits and joining the What I Wore Wednesday link party with The Pleated Poppy.  These posts are something that I really enjoy, because I have always had a passion for fashion.  I love putting together new outfits, and shopping my own closet to wear things in different ways.  Let’s get straight to it, here is what I have been wearing for the past week or so. A lot of things I wear are old, but I try to link back to things if I have bought them recently.  This was casual Friday last week.

Boyfriend capri’s- The Limited (old), similar at Nordstrom)
Granny sweater- thrifted
Sandals- my daughter (don’t know where she got them)
Brown belt- Gap

This dress is an oldie but a goodie.  I love the length and shape of it.  If you know me well, you know that I always love things that hide my shape.  After having three kids, it is just how I feel comfortable.  I have owned it for about 5 years.

Dress- Gap (old)
Necklace- Anthropologie (similar)
Flats- Ann Taylor (old)

I bought this orange skirt a couple of summers ago in Atlanta.

Skirt- Anthropologie (old)
White tank- Tommy Hilfiger (similar)
Wedges- Naturalizer (old)
Bracelet- L.Mae Boutique

Of course, I wore it with a trusty denim jacket while at work, cause it is FREEZING in my school.  I recently won a giveaway (from the blog Walking in Memphis in High Heels) to L.Mae Boutique.  the bracelet I am wearing with this outfit is one of the things I purchased with my gift credit.  You can see the bracelet link above.

This is a vintage Susan Bristol skirt.  Not for everyone, but I like it, and my 18 year old daughter wants to borrow it.  The sweater is a hand me down from Miss 18 Year Old.

red plaid maxi
skirt- thrifted
Lace back sweater- American Eagle (no longer available)
Wedges- Skechers (old)

These white cut off’s were bermuda shorts, and I cut them off over the summer.  I wore this to a get together at a friend’s house over the weekend.  I love this Tshirt, it says “Polly wants a cocktail”.  It is a “life is good” shirt.  You can purchase other Tshirts by this brand here.  I love them!

I ran errands and went to dinner with LC and Mr. 6 Year old that evening, and threw on this cardigan.

This was a day at work.  I have owned these white dress pants forever.  And the black peplum blouse is another hand me down from Miss 18 Year Old.  I wish you could see the sandals I am wearing.  They are the cutest color blocked black and white ones.  Oh well, I am sure you will see them some other time if you stick around.

BTW, I have been looking for a denim shirt dress for several weeks now, and I finally bit the bullet and ordered one!   I have been eying this one from Gap, but I didn’t want to pay full price.  Well, yesterday was my lucky day!  Right now, if you order online, you can get 40% your order, even on sale stuff!  Plus if you spend over $50, you get free shipping.  So I ordered the dress and a sale scarf to get the free shipping.  I cannot wait to wear it, and this is definitely on my must have list of things to buy for fall.
