What I Wore Wednesday

Welcome to my What I Wore Wednesday post!  I will be linking up with the Pleated Poppy again this week with the outfits I have been wearing lately.  We have certainly had out share of sadness in the last week and a half.  Actually, probably more than our share.  But there were also bright spots, because we were able to spend time with family who we rarely get to see, so that part was nice.  A lot of what I wore this past two weeks has been black.  I am kind of traditional in that I usually go with black for funerals.  I am off to a track meet in a few, so here is what I have been wearing, with a few of the family sprinkled in.

This dress is a Little Black Designs Mee Mee dress.  It is one of my favorite dresses ever!  I got lots of compliments on it at work, even a couple of people who wanted to purchase it for themselves.  and you can have it too, by going to the Little Black Designs Etsy shop!  I loved it styled with a denim jacket and brown boots.

This is 100% my kind of dress.  I love the loose fit and the gathering across the chest, and even the shape of the sleeves.

This is what the back looks like.

This dress is something that will stay in my wardrobe for many years to come.  And it is for all seasons!

This was a work outfit, before all of the sadness that ensued.  I was told that I looked like a beautiful spring flower, so that is good, right?

You can see other ways I styled these pants here, here, and here.

This is a casual Friday outfit, a spring day, but still cold.  I also wore this to hang out with some girlfriends after work.  You can see another way I wore this sweater here

This is what Miss 18 Year old put together for a viewing of my grandmother.  This is a Little Black Designs skirt from my girlfriend.  Yes, she was also kind enough to give her a couple of things to wear.  My daughter loves this skirt.

There is a cute little pocket on this side of the skirt.

This is what I wore to the viewing on that same evening.  This skirt is also a Little Black Designs skirt.  It is a wrap skirt, and it was extremely comfortable to have on for a very long evening.

Here it is without the sweater.  You can see that it ties at the side.

And this is the dress I wore to my grandmother’s funeral.  I have owned this dress for many years.  It came from Express.  I wore it with boots because it was a very cold day and we had to walk in the cemetery.  I knew it would be spongey, and it was.

This is my little photo bomber dressed up, which is rare for him.

This is Miss 18 Year Old and Our Swedish daughter on Easter.  Miss 18 Year old dress is vintage, isn’t it cute?

And this is what the whole family wore on Easter.

It was a chilly morning, so I threw this chambray shirt on under my dress and wore grey tights.

I liked the look, and I was warm, which is important, because I hate to freeze!  You may have seen me wear this dress before

This is what I changed into after church on Easter.  We went and visited with relatives who were here from Texas.  I kept my chambray and added white capris, a peachy T shirt and burlap Toms.

I wore this dress from eShakti to one of the funeral’s, but since I had just written a post about it, I didn’t photograph it again.  And this dress below was my third funeral in a week.  I think the third one was the most difficult.  It was a friend, not a relative.  But it was heart wrenching and much too soon to say goodbye.  This dress was also from Little Black Designs.  It is simply the most perfect black shift dress.  something that every woman can use in her closet, and unbelievably comfortable and chic.

Here is is without the cardigan.

I could wear this dress all day, it is just as comfortable as my bath robe and fits perfectly.  My girlfriend, Dee, who is the brains behind Little Black Designs, has a genius concept.  Everything she makes I black, and comfortable, and good quality.  I want to own every single thing!  there are just so many ways to wear it all!  and it never goes out of style.  Everything is classic and classy.

I am glad this week is behind me, and praying for brighter days ahead.  I still have a couple of more Little Black Designs outfits to show off, and then I am going to officially introduce you to my beautiful and creative girlfriend who has created this smart and stylish line of clothing. You can catch some more of her designs here and here.
