This Christmas Season has just whizzed by! I feel like I don’t have time to get everything done. We had a busy weekend, but managed to squeeze in time to decorate gingerbread houses on Sunday evening. I bought two this year because it always turns into a tearful fight for three kids to work on one house. So I bought my 12 year old, Coleton one of his own, and then one for Delaney and Gavin. She is very patient with him, and it worked out so much better this year. Everyone was happy. We came up with an idea to have a gingerbread house contest, so at the end of this post, please comment and vote on which one you like best! I am not going to tell you which is which!
Coleton is in the jazz band at Bridgeport Middle School. They had their Christmas concert last night, and I must say that band director is amazing! At his middle school they really support the arts. They have regular band, a steel drum band, a jazz band, strings, choir, and show choir. All performed last night except the strings. There were even a few of the students who sang. That band was better than many high school bands. So proud that Coleton is involved in it. He plays the saxaphone. Here he is all dressed for his performance.
This is the jazz band performing. Great job! Mr. Stoneking played right along with them. He rocks!
Now, if you want to vote for the best gingerbread house, my kids are anxiously awaiting to see who will win!
House Number 1
House number 2
Two more days of work left, and then Christmas Break! I can’t wait to have a little time off to just relax. Watch a little TV, clean house, do some organizing, and just enjoy my family. Have you decorated a gingerbread house with your kids yet? Baked cookies? What have you been doing to create some memories this year? I would love to hear about it!
